Here are some most influential sources in my exploration of the gap.

God  JWVH, Allah, Unity, Now, the "sense of the beyond".  Despite my repeated attempts to escape, God repeatedly draws me back to this assignment!  I've discovered that "But I just want to go sailing," doesn't carry much weight as an excuse.
Jesus as teacher and prophet God's wisdom as expressed through Jesus provides insights into the nature of God's call for compassion, justice, love, and unity.
Marcus Borg Author of many books on the life and teaching of Jesus, Marcus Borg provides historical context to better understand Jesus.

Victor J. Stenger is the author of "God The Failed Hypothesis, How Science Shows That God Does Not Exist."  In his book, Victor describes an experiment which he claims demonstrates that God does not exist.  In doing so, he provides a stark contrast between religion's model of God and the alternative proposed in "Exploring the Gap".  Along with David Bohm, Stenger is forthright in stating that science is not the place to uncover truth, so it is ill equipped to discover the nature of the world around us.

God the Failed Hypothesis

Professor Charley Phillips --  a philosophy professor of mine at Metropolitan State College -- stated: "I am not an atheist, because an atheist states 'I don't believe in God', implyng there is a God to not believe in.  I just don't give God that much credit."  Despite his strong position on God, Charley encouraged me in my journey, all the while challenging me. But he always respected my perspective!
Sam Harris, author of "The End of Faith", pulls no punches regarding the very foundation upon which religions justify a belief in God and the nature of God. For all people of faith, he should be viewed as a 21st century prophet.  You  won't like what he has to say. But isn't that the role of prophets?
David Bohm
David Bohm explores the near-mystery nature of God's universe.  I found his insights about the nature of the universe as hologram and his challenge to sciences treatment of the universe as discrete elements inspiring and insightful.  Among others, see "Wholeness and the Impicate Order" and "On Dialog", and freely explore others!

Wholeness and the Implicate Order

Deepak Chopra provides an insightful look at Jesus' teaching through the filter of eastern philosophy. See "The Third Jesus: The Christ we Cannot Ignore".
